What’s the weather like?

Fall: It fluctuates at this time of year so you must be prepared with the proper clothing. Lows can reach 40 degrees Fahrenheit with rain and wind or be as warm as 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Spring: Bring a good set of rain gear and a high top rubber boot.

Quality of Bear?

This boreal forest area bordering farmland has a lot of Black Bear. Encounters with sows and cubs are common.The average size of Bear you will see is 175 pounds and be 51/2 foot . Spring Bears usually rut in the third week of may on into June.

Quality of Deer?

When you join us for a hunt, you can expect to see on average 4-5 different bucks per day ranging from 1-5 1/2 years old. During the week most hunters will have numerous opportunities to harvest a 125” – 150” buck or larger. Most of the deer we harvest are killed between 10am and 2pm.

How are they bugs?

Depending on the winter run off or spring rain Mosquito’s can be difficult but a necessary tool is a thermocell and refills to solve that issue.

What sort of hunting do you offer?

Archery hunts are encouraged but we cater to all weapons.

Where will we be staying?

Our lodge has 5 separate bedrooms with the capability to double in each room but we only want to take 6 hunters a week. 4 full bathrooms are included.

Meals?

All are prepared by a cook and lunches are a bagged variety of your liking. Dietary concerns will be accommodated.
All alcohol and tobacco are your responsibility. Smoking is not allowed in the lodge but a outdoor smoking area is available.

Recommended items

A pair of camp slippers or shoes is recommended as we dress in the garage when we go hunting and then undress there and go into the lodge.

Colors

Are mandatory but only a top and your head gear. We do supply this but you can bring if you desire.

Travel to and from the hunt area?

We travel from the lodge to a staging area and then go on All Terrain Vehicles. We hunt the forest fringe as well as the agricultural fields in some areas.

Guide to Hunter Ratio

This is a two on 1 guided service, each guide services two clients from start to finish.

What are the general timelines?

Whitetail: The hunt starts when you arrive Sunday afternoon and then ends when you depart Saturday by noon.
Bear: The hunt starts when you arrive Sunday afternoon and then ends when you depart Friday by noon.
